Holiday Gift Giving
The Annual Holiday Gift-Giving Season usually begins in mid-November and ends December 20th.
This community gift-giving program is launched during the Downtown Manhattan Beach Holiday Open House. The community is invited to drop off unwrapped new toys, books, gift cards, clothing and family gift baskets the evening of the Manhattan Beach Open House event or at the Shorewood Realtors, Hermosa Beach office throughout the holiday season.
By the end of December, P.S. I Love You Foundation “elf” volunteers distribute the gifts, rain or shine, to local shelters and at-risk families in Los Angeles, Watts, Compton, Hawthorne, Inglewood and Redondo Beach.
This program creates a simple and heartfelt way for our extraordinarily generous community to bring holiday cheer and thoughtful gifts to the lives of families in need.
In addition, there’s a small group of volunteers who create Christmas Stockings for youth in transition with the Department of Child and Family Services. They personally present the stockings to these 17+ years-old youth during a holiday luncheon event.
Past recipients are from Lennox Unified Schools District, Good Shepherd Shelter, Richstone Family Center, Walk With Sally, Exceptional Kids PTO, and L.A. Children’s Dependency Court.
