School Enrichment Programs
Yoga123Program objective: Yoga123 provides a unique health and well-being program that fosters physical, emotional, and social development through the practice of yoga. It inspires students to focus on their bodies and how they feel inside and out. This highly successful program teaches more than just yoga – it teaches children respect, moods, and peace. The popular program mantra is “Free to be you and me”.
Program specifics: It is a 12 week class that can be delivered during-school hours or as an after-school program. Yoga123 instructors teach at-risk youths about positive self image, healthy lifestyles and how to identify their emotions. They promote healthy body awareness through physical fitness, and self-confidence for the children through building respectful attitudes toward themselves and others.
Who we reach: Yoga123 currently reaches over 400 at-risk children in local Title 1 Schools and aligns with California requirements for a Physical Education class. It can also be substituted in the classroom during PE hours. We currently have two instructors teaching this program in local schools and we collaborate with schools, fitness centers and foundations to offer more.
LeadershipSports123Program objective: This program inspires children to become confident leaders of their own lives and respected leaders within a team. The goal is to influence positive character development, increase self–esteem, and inspire each child to“ get-involved” and participate in sports and in the classroom.
Program specifics: LeadershipSports123 provides a unique interactive sports and well-being program to 15-40 at-risk children at a time in a 6 to 12 week lesson plan. The instructors teach confidence-building skills through interactive classroom discussions and outside volleyball training. It provides repetitive tools and healthy habits for children to use both in and out of the classroom. LeadershipSports123 was developed in collaboration with Beach Cities Health District and Redondo Beach’s Children Development Center.
The World & Me123Program objective: This program is dedicated to improving social interaction and tolerance in the lives of at-risk children ages 5-12 The program delivers knowledge of culture, currency and map familiarity while educating children about differences in race and religion.
Program specifics: The World & Me123 is an educational program currently in development with Pepperdine University’s Gradios Business School Leadership Program. This 12 week program is a world awareness class that teaches a combination of social studies, geography, history and current affairs through the use of interactive puzzles, maps and memorization games.
