P.S. I Love You Foundation’s
9th Annual “Day At The Beach”… Adopt a child for one Day                                 

WHEN:       Saturday, July, 25, 2009
TIME:         Volunteer prompt attendance at 9:00am - 3:00pm
WHERE:     Between 6th and 8th Street on the Strand/sand in Manhattan Beach

 Join us for this extraordinary community experience where 225 at-risk children are united with 225 volunteers like you to get "adopted" and given attention for the day.   This year we will have 75 FOSTER children coming directly from the Department of Children and Family Services and many are waiting for permanent adoption.  All other children come from local shelters and Title 1 Schools.  Each child bonds differently but ALL children LOVE everything about this day that you help create for them.

Information for Volunteers:

  • Your Responsibilities:  You will be assigned and responsible for one at-risk child for the day from 9AM-3PM.   MOST KIDS CANNOT SWIM:  It is your responsibility to  keep them safe. 
  • Parking: Please allow time to look for parking at Metlox on Morningside and Manhattan Beach Blvd. Bring plenty of quarters for metered parking to avoid getting a ticket. (You can park at Mira Costa and car pool to the beach)
  • Three Things to Bring:    (1)  your License will be taken when you are mathced witha  child and given back at the end of the day.  (2) Please bring a Beach Towel as a GIFT for your child and (3) BRING A LARGE BLANKET for  you and your child’s home base to relax.
