Volunteer Responsibilities Form #2 of 3 8th Annual “Day At The Beach”… Adopt a child for one Day 23 August 2008, 9:00am - 3:00pm
Day at the Beach event COULD NOT HAPPEN without your caring participation! Following are your responsibilities and event guidelines to abide by. This is to ensure the safety of our Day At The Beach children:
- Once assigned a child, you are responsible for that child during the entire event. It is vital that you maintain very close contact with your child (i.e., while he/she is in the water, in the restroom, having lunch, playing games, etc.)
- Make sure that: You and your child both get a T-shirt and wear it at all times even in the water; You and your child both have name tags; Your child is wearing a colored wrist band indicating the shelter/organization; Your child is on time for lunch and scheduled activities.
- If your child is wearing a black wrist band, DO NOT let your child be photographed, as this means the child is in hiding. Keep them away from the Press and pictures that could endanger their cover.
- Always maintain very close contact with your child in and around the water (MOST of the children CANNOT swim).
- Inform your child of the importance of staying close to your side at all times and to not walk away from you under any circumstances. Never leave your child unattended
- Stay within a block of our base camp. We will set up near a restroom so there should not be a need to wander far from the group.
- Bring a gift of a sand toy for your child. This will be your gift to your child and something for him/her to remember you by.
- Other than scheduled lunch and activities, the rest of the day’s activities are up to you. Focus all of your attention on ensuring your child has a wonderful day!
I have read the above guidelines and understand what my responsibilities entail for the August 23, 2008 Day at the Beach event. (please fill in the info in detail below):
